ESTIMATION OF SMOOTHING CONSTANT WITH OPTIMAL PARAMETERS OF WEIGHT IN THE MEDICAL CASE OF A TUBE AND A CATHETER

Author/s Daisuke Takeyasu, Kazuhiro Takeyasu
Source International Journal of Research In Medical and Health Sciences pp 01 -13 Vol 02. No. 4– 2013
Abstract

In industries, how to improve forecasting accuracy such as sales, shipping is an important issue. There are many researches made on this. In this paper, a hybrid method is introduced and plural methods are compared. Focusing that the equation of exponential smoothing method(ESM) is equivalent to (1,1) order ARMA model equation, a new method of estimation of smoothing constant in exponential smoothing method is proposed before by us which satisfies minimum variance of forecasting error. . …

DESIGN OF MEDICATED LOZENGES FOR PEDIATRICS

Author/s K Purushotham Rao, Girish Katti, Ajay Kartik, P Manjunath
Source International Journal of Research In Medical and Health Sciences pp 14 – 23 Vol 02. No.4 — 2013
Abstract

Montelukast sodium was formulated as a oral retentive lozenge for the treatment of asthma in pediatric patients. There are dosage forms like syrups, tablets in the market but still there is a need for new dosage form which acts effectively. So the present investigation prepared and evaluated lozenges of Montelukast sodium using hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose as polymer different concentrations to increase retention time. Among the 3 formulations, formulation F2 containing 0.5% hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose was found to be promising. This formulation exhibited an in vitro drug release of 69.24% in 30 mins. The benefits of these prepared lozenges are increased bioavailability, reduction in gastric irritation by-passing first pass metabolism. . .. …

SEXUAL VARIATION IN FILLET YIELD AND PHENOTYPIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOME ECONOMIC TRAITS OF BATA (Labeo bata, Hamilton, 1822)

Author Muhammad Yousuf Ali, Md. Mehedi Hasan, Md. Golam Sarower and Momotaz Khanom
Source International Journal of Research In Medical and Health Sciences pp 13- 22 Vol 02. No. 3 — 2013
Abstract

Relationships between different traits of Bata (Labeo bata) were estimated from a sample of 300 individuals (164 male and 136 female). The mean standard length, body width and body depth of the samples were: for male 17.69±3.88 cm, 4.27±1.09 cm and 2.57±0.75 cm and for female 16.78±4.06 cm, 4.09±1.06cm and 2.48±0.81cm respectively. The average total weight for male was 120.75±69.52g and for female was102.21±69.70. Data were analyzed for total weight (TW), trunk weight (TrW) standard length (L), body depth (BD), dress-out weight (DW) and fillet weight (FW)…. …

Author I.C. Okeyode, G.B. Towolawi F.G. Akinboro, V. Makinde, and A.O Mustapha
Source International Journal of Research In Medical and Health Sciences pp 10 – 16 Vol 02. No.2 — 2013
Abstract

Outdoor absorbed dose rates were measured in selected areas of Abeokuta in Nigeria; some with rock outcrops and others with soil overburden. Measurements were carried out using a Geiger Muller Survey Meter and a Global Positioning System (GPS). Result shows absorbed dose rates range from 1.0 x 103 to 1.3 x 103 nGy/hr among the rock outcrop areas and from 0.6 x 103 to 0.8 x 103 nGy/hr among the soil -covered areas. The average absorbed dose rate was 1180 ±3 nGy/hr for the rock outcrop areas and 689 ±3 nGy/hr for the soil -covered areas and assuming 0.4 occupancy factor,.. …

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an indispensable aspect of quality nursing care in any health setup today. Care assessed to be of high quality according to clinical, economic or other provider-defined criteria is not ideal if the patient feels dissatisfied. There is a rationale to make the organization and delivery of health care more responsive to consumer opinion. The study sought to determine inpatient satisfaction with nursing care at the university hospital, Kumasi -Ghana.
