Abstract |
The liver plays a critical role of producing essential substances and riding the body from toxins. Because of this, the liver is commonly affected by diseases such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD). These often pose a threat to the quality of life of the individual. Diagnosis of NAFLD is either by imaging, histology and by biochemical markers.
