The aim of this study was to assess the influence of sea and mainland activities influence on the distribution of four heavy metals (Hg, Pb, Cd and As) measured in the muscles, liver and kidneys of two species of Cichlidae (Hemichromis fasciatus and the hybrid of Tilapia zillii × Tilapia guineensis) collected from  the western part of the Ebrie lagoon.
